Bring it back to life.
In some cases, you can clearly see that the original vision of Irving Harper`s relief is no longer reflected due to the condition of the art piece. In these cases, we clearly make a decision to bring some areas back to be consistent with Irving Harper's artistic vision for the original place.
The work on the relief was a challenging one for Anja Eichler. The middle rectangular pillar was opened and bent on one of the edges and compromised the whole design. She carefully separated/opened the section to support the rectangular form with a counterpart from the inside. Then she glued everything together and supported it to let it dry out.
Other smaller sections of the relief were just bent and re-glued. A cleaning process was also part of the restoration, but we decided to do no retouching to let the surface as found in the estate of Irving Harper.
